Bolnore Village Hall
Working closely with Bolnore Village Community Partnership (BVCP) and Mid Sussex District Council (MSDC), MBA were instructed with an ambitious brief to create a community pavilion to house a wide programme of uses, events and community groups.
Planning permission was granted in 2012 for the erection of a new leisure and community pavilion on Bolnore Recreation Grounds. As part of this application, consent was also granted for access and parking, a skate park and a Multi Games Area. Further revisions to the design of the pavilion building were approved in 2013 and in 2014 the clients instructed MBA to extend the building for additional storage to support the local cub scout group. The proposal represents a significant step forward in the provision of facilities within Bolnore Village.
The project brings together a large community hall, meeting rooms, bar and kitchen area, four sports changing rooms and a viewing balcony on the mezzanine level. Externally there are grass football pitches, a multi-use games area and skate park.
The building has been well received and is a testament to the community that endeavoured to ensure it was delivered.
